What happens when you are unable to find affordable, quality, furniture made from sustainable raw materials? If you’re Tameron and Peter Grahn you decide to make it yourself, even if, you’re pregnant or, in Peter’s case, have a full time job. So it was that Tameron found herself painting and sanding from a garage in Philippi, even while pregnant. With the help of the amazing Lucky, Eco Furniture Design’s first employee (who is still with the company), a new company with a conscience was born.
Cape Town was ready for it, because Eco Furniture Design has grown year on year and now offers an extensive range of products for the home and office, as well as a custom service. Clients are even able to choose the finish on standard products. Also, as the timber often changes from batch to batch, customers can make an appointment to visit the workshop and choose the timber they prefer.
Eco Furniture Design has a shop in the Salt Circle Arcade where you can see a selection of the most popular products, but a visit to the workshop is recommended if you’d like to see more. Due to space constraints at the workshop, though, an appointment is essential. You can also keep up to date with new products and news via social media (links below).
If you are looking to beautify your home and would like delivery in 2013, you will need to order before the end of October. From November, orders will be for delivery in 2014.
